Honeymoon Hanoi to Saigon 16D15N

There are no more romantic places to spend your honeymoon than in the enchanting city of Hanoi. Luxury accommodations, fabulous Vietnamese cuisine and sites that will delight your senses await you. The adjacent town of Ho An. the fabled beaches of the south, a cruise on mysterious and romantic Halong Bay, and the vibrant Ho Chi Minh City await you. At AWS we have years of experience in planning that special time in your life and will design a honeymoon that you will never forget.

Day 1 - Arrival in Vietnam (D)
Once you have disembarked from your plane in Hanoi, our AWS guides will escort you to your superior accommodations.  A fabulous dining experience awaits you that evening at one of Hanois' most charming restaurants which is housed in a lovely villa.

Day 2 - Hanoi (B,D)
After a good night's rest, we will visit the mausoleum of the national hero and venerated leader of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh. You will visit the most renowned pagodas of the city: One Pillar Pagoda, Tran Quoc Buddhist Pagoda which is situated on the lovely West Lake and the 'House of Stilts' the former residence of Ho Chi Minh. After lunch you will be invited to wander the city's old quarters on foot or ride a 'cyclo' to help you navigate through the famed '36 Streets' which offers an amazing variety of goods and services. Your evening meal will be at one of Hanoi's best restaurants.

Day 3 - Hanoi - Halong Bay (B,L,D)
We leave today for a lovely trip through the Vietnamese countryside to Halong Bay.  There, we will board the Emeraude which is a replica of a classic steamship of the past. On board, you will cruise the bay with its mysterious and unspoilt limestone islets and as the sun sets, you will dine in a private setting on the Emeraude's deck before retiring.

Day 4 - Halong Bay - Hanoi - Danang - Hoi An (B)
After you have arisen from a good night's rest, the hardy will want to join in an invigorating Tai Chi class or you may simply want to enjoy a cup of tea as you cruise through the fabled rock formations of the bay. We will return to Hanoi in time for your flight to Danang and then to the charming seaside town of Hoi An.

Day 5 - Hoi An (B,L)
Today as we explore the quaint town of Hoi An, you will discover that not much as changed in the past 200 years!  This was a former trading town and with your expert guide and a car at your disposal, you will want to experience the town's environs such as Cua Dai Beach.  We will dine at the Morning Glory restaurant for a delicious Vietnamese luncheon and then visit some of the many art galleries that grace this town.

Day 6 - Hoi An (B,L)
Following breakfast, we leave for a half-day cooking class at Tra Que, a charming village in Hoi An's outskirts which supplies vegetables to kitchens all over the country. Spend the morning working with the villagers as they show you the ways to harvest and prepare fresh vegetables for meals. Cook a lunch of Vietnamese dishes with your hosts before enjoying the fruits of your labor. Return to Hoi An town for a leisurely afternoon.

Day 7 - Hoi An - Nha Trang (B)
After a brief flight to Nha Trang you will want to settle into your superior accommodations at the Evason Hideaway which is an exclusive  resort situated on a on private beach accessible only by boat.  Here you will have be lavished with attention by your own personal attendant.

Day 8 - 9 Nha Trang (B)
The next two days are at your leisure.  Enjoy the the resort's restaurant and be sure to take advantage of its famed spa, the 'Six Senses' for a refreshing and rejuvenating experience. If snorkeling is "your thing" then don't hesitate to dive into the turquoise waters and enjoy the magnificent marine life.

Overnight in Nha Trang.

Day 10 - Nha Trang - Ho Chi Minh City (B,D)
After breakfast we head on to vibrant and exciting Ho Chi Minh City (formally Saigon, 1974) which has become the economic capitol of Vietnam. On the way to your superior accommodations you will not want to miss seeing the Presidential Palace, the War Remnants Mausoleum, the Cathedral of Notre Dame and the famed Old Saigon Post Office. Your afternoon is at your leisure to begin to discover this "new" city which has so much to offer.

Day 11 - Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta (B,L,D)
This morning we leave Ho Chi Minh City for the Megong Delta region.  Aboard a luxurious and private boat, the 'Song Xanh' we will discover the narrow canals and tributaries that have become famous in part because of Marguerite Duras' famous novel about the area. The afternoon sees us boating on a sampan to visit Cao Dai temple and then a romantic, candlelit dinner in a 19th century house before we set anchor for the evening.

Day 12 - Mekong Delta- Ho Chi Minh City (B,D)
This morning, the Song Xanh takes you to Cai Rang Floating Market, cruising amongst rice barges, wooden ship-building yards and locals drying fruits and vegetables on the Mekong's banks. After your cruise journey ends, return to shore where a private car and guide await you for additional sightseeing and exploration in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 13 - Ho Chi Minh City - Phu Quoc (B)
Today we hop a short flight to the island of Phu Quoc where we will reside for the next three days. Here, experience the tranquillity of island life in La Veranda Resort, a boutique villa set in a stretch of pristine beach in one of Asia's least developed beach area.

Day 14 - 15 Phu Quoc (B)
Spend the next two days in the perfectly laid back surroundings of Phu Quoc. Recommended touring options include diving and snorkeling trips to the outer lying reefs or a trekking excursion in the pristine rainforest of the island's interior.

Day 16 - Phu Quoc - Ho Chi Minh City - Depart (B)
Today we enjoy free time before returning to Ho Chi Minh City.  If there is time, we will have an opportunity to do some last minute shopping or to simply relax before or onward flight.
