Prek Toal Nature reserve and Floating Village!

We went for the one day guided tour of Prek Toal nature reserve and a floating village near to the reserve, the experience was fantastic. Mr Sophoan Rath took great care in looking after us on the excursion and was very informative as well as genuinely friendly. The ranger that took us on the boat around the nature reserve was obviously very well attuned to the area and it’s flora and fauna. My partner is a keen birder, myself not so much, BUT I really enjoyed the trip and getting to see so many tropical species was quite special. The floating village tour was eye opening. After lunch, we were taken around the village by paddle boat (optional & life jackets provided) and although (more due to our combined weight than anything else!) capsize seemed imminent at every wave caused by power boats, the lady that rowed us around did an amazing job, and it really gave an insight to how skilled in and around the water the people living on the floating village are. 100% would recommend the experience if you are in the area visiting the temple complexes of Angkor Wat. For those interested in the natural beauty of Cambodia this is a trip worth making in itself.

Trip Bangkok to Ankor wat for a day

We totally recomend this service, especially if you dont have ennough time. They pick up you on time at 3 am, and guide your inmigration formalities (not so easy) . Then, you know the hotel and your guide to ankor wat, who makes a good selection of the main places of interest. However, the times of stay in any place and the explanations depends on you: it is a private tour. The hotel options are good too. In conclusion: good organization, good atention, puntuality and in our case, mr. Rath (our guide and organizer) very nice, gentile and with a good english.

Personalised tour of Cambodia that exceeded our high expectations

We had visited Siem Reap before using Sophoan's firm. This time we asked for a personalised tour of Cambodia covering Phnom Penh, Battambang and our favourites in Angkor and beyond. Sophoan's descriptions in Phnom Penh will stay with us for life and his personal experiences made it all very real. We had a very specific tour of Angkor, but he breathed new life into our personal favourites and was knowledgeable about the new locations too - Beng Melea is definitely worth the trip! Exceptional visit to Siem Reap/ Angkor Wat with Meticulous Planning!

I was heading to Thailand with friends and had a couple extra days at the end of the trip where I would be alone and wanted to take a 'day trip' (from Bangkok) to somewhere I hadn't seen. I decided upon travel to Siem Reap, Cambodia to visit the Angkor Wat temple complex! I wanted to go by car/bus and finding a group tour at the time I was there proved difficult. So, I looked up tour companies that might do private guided tours and found Sophoan Rath and his company. From the start, Sophoan was extremely responsive and put together a 2 day, 1 night trip to meet my needs. I asked about safety as a single female traveler and Sophoan assured me the trip was safe and that I would be assisted each and every step of the way. This turned out to be exceptional!
The assistance was like a perfectly synchronized relay:
from Bangkok hotel pick-up, to hand off to another guide at the border who walked me through visa obtainment and border crossing, to handover to the next driver who took me from border to Siem Reap hotel, where Sophoan came to say 'hi' and tell me of pick-up time the next day.
This was all replicated in reverse on my way back to Bangkok!! Then, the Angkor Wat tour (from sunrise through afternoon) was exceptional and Sophoan, an accredited Cambodian Tourism Guide, had great knowledge of the history. It is an experience I will always remember. I highly recommend using Sophoan Rath and his tour company when exploring Cambodia--for this type of tours or others.

End to end ownership

We availed of their services for a 2 nights, 3 days road trip from Bangkok to Angkor Wat and back. We are exhausted and satiated at the same time. There is so much to absorb from a culture and culinary perspective and the time duration was barely enough. The whole trip was very well managed including the border crossings. Our Angkor guide Kim and driver Sith were very informative and engaging. Kim made all the adjustments we wanted in our schedule including a sunrise trip to Angkor. That was quite an ethereal experience. Would highly recommend their services.

Getting the most plus more with Chet as your guide !!

'If you want to get the most from your visit and learn as much as you can, hire a guide'. This was the advice I was given and I'm glad I followed it. In my opinion we couldn't have picked a better guide. Chet was an expert guide always polite, on time, knowledgeable and educated with a great sense of humour. His prices were very reasonable and upfront. He took us to many interesting places such as Tonle Sap Lake fishing village and market and we learnt much about the local culture, customs and history of the area. We would have missed out on this valuable insight if we'd have wondered around on our own. Chet also took us to a number of temples and knew all of the best photo angles and the best time of day to visit to avoid the crowds. Chet has an incredible knowledge of the temples and the culture that built them. Chet is very enthusiastic and you can tell he loves his job. Cambodia Travel Trails Day Tours

This Bangkok to Siam Reap tour made my very first trip to Cambodia as smooth as I could possibly imagine.From the moment I decided to inquire into this I could tell it would work out. It was incredibly organized with itinerary updates provided. We were picked up promptly from our hotel in Bangkok, met with someone right outside the border who helped us through the crossing and into another vehicle that took us through to Siam Reap. We grabbed our Angkor passes and our tour guide. Every step of the way we had someone there to guide us. The Angkor guide was informative, engaging, and funny. Most importantly, he allowed us to move at our own pace. We saw everything we wanted and more without feeling rushed or pushed to exhaustion.

Professional and Knowledgeable

Of note, we did a 3 day/2 night tour with transportation from Bangkok to Siam Reap and back.

Everyone that we worked with from the drives to our boarder crossing liaison to our Angkor guide were incredibly professional, welcoming and polite. Our guide Kim was very detail oriented and provided lots of information about the different temples and Cambodia itself. Additionally, he worked with us on schedules and really knew the best ways to explore each site and the perfect photo locations to remember our trip. The itinerary was very well designed such that we saw a couple temples the first day after a early morning and one day of traveling. The second day highlighted the grandeur and immensity of the Angkor Wat and all the other sites with refreshments and good local food to top it off. The final day we enjoyed more of a cultural experience of the floating village and the handcraft school before heading back to Bangkok. This was an amazing experience highlighted by prompt communication and the perfect experience.

A very helpful and responsible tour guide

I just came back from Siem Reap few days ago and thanks to SorphornTG for being my tour guide. He's a very reliable man. He's always early and he's always worried about our safety, either we're comfortable or not. He is very patient when handling me and my friends since sometimes my friend likes to do other thing and asking the same thing even after he already explain it (feel bad about that to him) but he kindly repeat what he just said to my friend and willing to repeat for other too. He's so informative and makes us really understand the story behind Angkor Wat and everything we should know about Angkor Wat and the City itself. He takes care of us since the beginning until the time we're going back to Malaysia. He send us until the airport and patiently treat us that likes to take pictures. Great experience with helpful English guide

I learnt about this tour company through friend recommendation, and after a firsthand experience, I will recommend it to my family and friends as well.

I booked a 1-day Angkor Wat tour for me and my friend, including sunrise and sunset viewing. We had to ourselves a helpful and knowledgeable English guide, an air-conditioned car (with a friendly driver), and unlimited supply of cold water. The last two items being particularly useful in cooling down between sites and keeping us hydrated in the Cambodian heat.

Sophoan, the Managing Director, was helpful and patient from the inquiry stage to the booking stage. Soc, the English tour guide, knew all the sites inside-out, as well as Cambodia's history and current situation, resulting in delightful discussions throughout the day. The design of the itinerary allowed us to avoid the large tour groups, which was great. Given it was just us two, there was also some leeway to tailor the itinerary according to our own pace and preferences.

The 1-day tour was enough for me, as it contained the main temples. However, for those who are really into temples and history, think about joining the 2-day or 3-day tours.

Bangkok to Angkor Day Trip

I scheduled this trip with Sophoan in January, months ahead of our visit. I booked this trip based on reviews from Trip Advisor. Sophoan, was very fast to respond no matter what time of day it was in Cambodia. The correspondence was prompt and detailed. After arriving in Thailand for the beginning portion of our trip I contacted Sophoan to ensure that our pickup would arrive at the Bangkok hotel at the agreed upon time. The Pickup was waiting for us at 3:30 AM as stated. We took a nice van to the border of Cambodia where we were met by an associate who explained everything and made us feel very comfortable.We were picked up on the Cambodia side and transferred to Siem Reap where we met with our guide for the day. After a short breakfast we began to explore Angkor Wat. Our guide was very knowledgeable and knew the best routes to keep us out of the very hot sun between sites (also with water). By the end of the day, we felt like we knew our guide like he was one of our good friends. Laughing and hearing stories along the way. Without our guide we would have been left floundering and seeing only a fraction of what we encountered. Hats off to this great group. They do it right and I encourage anyone who reads this post to go with these guys. Once again, thanks again to Sophoan and all of his great drivers and guides.
